Cai Be

This 3-day Bassac Cruise takes you through the heart of the Mekong Delta, starting from Cai Be. On the first day, guests explore Cho Lach Canal, visit a local village, orchards, and rice fields before cruising the Mang Thit River. Day two highlights include Cai Be’s floating market and handicrafts, followed by another village visit and sunset views. The final day offers breakfast on board, a visit to Cai Rang floating market, and a local noodle factory before concluding at Can Tho’s Ninh Kieu pier. This journey offers a perfect blend of culture, nature, and relaxation.

Day 1: Saigon – Cai Be
Activities:Embark at Cai Be, depart for Cho Lach canal, visit a village, orchard & rice field, cruise back Mang Thit river

Boarding at Cai Be at noon. Welcome drink, Introduction to the ship and crew, check into the cabins. Departure towards Cho Lach on the Tien Giang river. Lunch while on route. Rest on the deck, or enjoy the open bar. Branching into Cho Lach canal for 30 minutes through the traffic of sand and rice barges, in a scenery of fruit drying facilities and wooden ship building yards. Visit of a village on the banks of river Mang Thit, an opportunity to appreciate the way of life and hospitality of the local inhabitants. Visit of the orchard or rice fields nearby. Boarding back, complimentary drink as a welcome back on board. Rest around the bar or on the deck enjoying the sunset. The crew will serve dinner while the Bassac is cruising back Mang Thit river. The Bassac runs upstream Co Chien river then sets anchor for the night, not far from the large My Thuan bridge.

Day 2: Cai Be – Vinh Long
Activities:Depart for Cai Be, visit of Cai Be’s handicraft, depart to Cho Lach, visit a village on the bank, explore an orchard, rice fields, back to cruise

06:30 Departure towards Cai Be. The passengers take their breakfast while enjoying the scenery on the banks. The Bassac follows around the Binh Hoa Phuoc peninsula then reaches into the First River, then the branch to Cai Be, inbetween banks of freshwater mangrove. Arrival in Cai Be, transfer on a local boat through the floating market for a visit of Cai Be’s handicraft. Boarding at Cai Be at noon. Welcome drink, departure towards Cho Lach on the Tien Giang river. Lunch while en route. Rest on the deck. The Bassac slips into the Ch? Lách canal, in the middle of the hustle and bustle of the river traffic, between markets and churches, a unique opportunity for a glimpse of the very varied life on the banks as well as on the water. Visit of a village on the banks of river Mang Thit, an opportunity to appreciate the way of life and hospitality of the local inhabitants. Visit of the orchard or rice fields nearby. Boarding back, complimentary drink as a welcome back on board. Rest on the deck enjoying the sunset. The crew will serve dinner while the Bassac is cruising Mang Thit river. The Bassac sets anchor just downstream from the little Tra On floating market, for the night.

Day 3: Can Tho – Saigon
Activities:Depart for Can Tho, arrive in Cai Rang floating market, visit the market & a noodle factory, return to Ninh Kieu pier

You may get up for breakfast as early as 06:30, as the ship is resuming its cruise the Tra On floating market. The ship then departs towards Can Tho. Arrival in Cai Rang floating market, check out and transfer onto a local boat to visit the floating market, then a noodle factory and return to the Ninh Kieu pier. End of services by mid-morning on shore at Can tho
